I took this photo from the 2nd story of the barn looking toward the farmhouse at the 156th anniversary celebration.
As I gazed out the window, I reflected on how many people had looked out that window over the years.
They may have looked out toward the house to see someone waving them inside for a meal.
They may have looked off at the horizon to watch storm clouds approaching from the west.
Maybe they peered out to see if their sibling was on to their hiding spot.
Maybe they looked out the window at the blazing hot sun wishing it would slip behind a cloud because the barn was so hot as they did chores.
And maybe, someone stood at this window, studying the farmhouse with a dream for the future in their mind. Looking at the home and wondering how many generations to come would also call this place home.
If windows could talk, I’d love to sit down and listen to the stories it would share.
